#ToBealion means to support the Pride

Saturday June 7 at the Academy of Lions

In support of our LGBTQSIA++ community, we’re shutting down our regular operations our Pride of Lions event is back!

This year we are teaming up LGBTQ+ Youthline and Toronto Queer Market to bring you an inclusive charity event that will include 90 min classes run by coach Keeley at our facility (1083 dundas st W). There will be DJs, pop up vendors and great vibes! The cost of the class you attend will be donated directly to Youthline.

Pop-up vendors will be curated by Queer Market all day so that class participants and spectators can browse and shop to further support our city’s Queer community.

Youthline will have a booth where folks can donate more and learn more about the important work that they do.

Registration is $30/person for a spot to attend a class. If anyone wishes to donate more OR if cost is a barrier for participation, please contact us at freya@academyoflions.com and we can accommodate any sliding scale PWYC donation. Also note that you do not have to donate to check out the Queer Market pop up.

All profits after event expenses will go directly to Youthline.

Event Details

  • 2-4 Classes will be Metabolic conditioning/HITT style with a attendance cap of 30 (classes will be added once time frames have been filled)

  • Donation price is $30/person - profits after event expenses will be donated to Youthline (please email Freya@academyoflions.com if you wish to donate more or if cost is a barrier to participation)

  • Please bring gym attire and some water

    • Our Cafe will be open and will be offering espresso drinks, smoothies and healthy snacks for purchase

  • Queer Market will be set up inside the Academy of Lions from 9am–5:00pm on Saturday, June 7st.

    • Do West Fest will also be going on that weekend with additional Queer Market Vendors set up down the street at the Green P throughout the weekend.

  • Initial class times will be 11am and 1pm - additional 9am and 3pm will be added if those time frames fill up!

  • You do not need to donate to explore the Queer market - but we do ask if you are able to donate towards Youthline at their booth that eday it would be greatly appreciated

LGBT Youth Line is a Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit* youth-led organization that affirms and supports the experiences of youth (29 and under) across Ontario. We do this by:

  • Providing anonymous peer support and referrals;

  • Training youth to provide support to other youth; and

  • Providing resources so youth can make informed decisions.
