What distance will you be running? Half Marathon
Will this be your first time completing this distance? If not, what races have you completed in the past?
I have run several 1/2s in Vancouver such as the Scotiabank, BMO and Lululemon races, and my first race after moving Toronto was the Toronto Waterfront 1/2 on my birthday last fall.
Why did you decide to join RUNLAB?
It is hard to meet people in Toronto, so I wanted a way to do something I love (running) while meeting rad folks in the Academy community.
What is the best part of your training so far?
Getting faster every week and not feeling guilty after eating two Portuguese custard tarts
What is the worst part?
I can't run on my own any longer since I have grown so fond of running with friends.
What do you hope to personally achieve in this race?(distance,time,mental challenge,ect)
I have never broken the mental barrier of finishing under 1:30 - I have come close a few times but since this is a downhill race and I am training more consistently I hope this will be my chance to throw down a sub-1:30 PB.
What motivates and inspires you to do the work towards reaching your goal of accomplishing this race?
I want to live a long and healthy life and I know being physically active is a critical part the work required to support that goal. I also believe strong social connections and sense of belonging are essential elements of true health and happiness - so I am grateful to share this journey with a community I love.
