JENNY & NAT TALK TO ACADEMY'S NEW YOGA TEACHER
Since strapping on her very first sweatband and spandex leotard at the ripe old age of 4 years old; Kate Evans or as I like to think of her, Kate the Great, hasn’t stopped moving. Teacher, student, competitor, amateur, yogi, runner, swimmer… and this list goes on, it’s impossible to label someone like Kate who is constantly wearing different hats, all in the name of learning and progressing. If you’ve ever worked out with Kate then you already know, she’s insane… I mean no offense by this, it’s actually a compliment. As her current training partner for the last few months and I can say without a shred of doubt that her full throttle, take no prisoners attitude towards each workout is often the only this that’s gotten me through a lot of them. She’s a hyper-competitive type A with endless determination- it’s a lethal combo.
With that said, we sit down with Kate at point where all that learning has taught her something new. A new practice to master- Balance. A concept so foreign nowadays that no one seems able to define or implement it. After stepping away from teaching yoga, Kate is coming back with regular scheduled programming and a mindset to help all the athletes she works with forge their own paths and relationships with the elusive ‘balance’.
