Sign up for a full- day Team Competition that will push you physically and challenge you mentally. 

Whether you’re a Pro at whipping out Double Unders more than 100 at a time, or you have just sweated through your first WOD and came back the same week for more, we want you there! All levels are not only welcomed, but encouraged!

THE TEAMS

Each person will register individually and be placed on an evenly matched team of 4, consisting of beginner, intermediate, and advance athletes. Each team will be Captained by an experienced member of the community who will organize and guide the team leading up to and including the day of competition. Unfortunately, you may not register as a team of 4 or choose which team you will be on. In the spirit of past Lions Leagues, half the fun is meeting new people and forming new bonds within the community. You will be surprised at how many kick-ass people call this gym “home”, but WOD at an entirely different time of day as you. 

The jam-packed day of competing will end with a group meal. This meal is included in your registration cost. If you have a loved one who would like to join in the food or you are someone who cannot compete in the competition, but would like to chow down with your buddies, there will be a limited number of extra food tickets for sale!

 

the workouts

Event 1 - 60 second blitz (16min AMRAP)

One teammate works at a time and does each exercise for 1 minute, after that minute the 2nd teammate goes for a minute, then teammate #3 then teammate #4. Relay each movement then start again with teammate #1 on station 2. 4 mins per station. 1 min per team member.

Station 1: OH KB Swings 16/24kg

Station 2: Shoulder to Overhead 55/75lbs

Station 3: Double Unders

Station 4: Wall ball 10/20lbs

 

Event 2 - Clean pyramid

12 reps of clean anyhow @ 55/75

10 reps of clean anyhow @ 65/95

8 reps of clean anyhow @ 85/115

5 reps of clean anyhow @ 95/135

4 reps of clean anyhow @ 105/165

3 reps of clean anyhow @ 125/195

2 reps of clean anyhow @ 135/215

1 reps of clean anyhow @ 145/235

Each teammate gets 90 secs at each bar

 

Event 3 - Hold on tight (for time, 12min timecap)

Each team member must partake in at least one couplet. Partners can switch whenever they want.

couplet A - row/OH hold

1 teammate Rows max calories 3 mins while the other teammate holds a barbell @55/75 in the OH position. If barbell drops, rower must stop.

Then immediately into:

couplet B - T2B/squat hold

1 teammate does max T2B in 3 mins while other teammate hold bottom of squat @55/75

T2B must stop if partner drops bar or if elbows touch knees.  Partner can continue to hold bottom of squat if T2B partner comes down.

Then immediately into:

couplet C - thrusters/hang from bar

1 teammate does max Thrusters in 3 mins @55/75 while the other teammate hangs from the pull up bar. Thrusters must stop until partner is back to hanging.

Then immediately into:

couplet D - MUs/deadlift hold

1 teammate does max muscle ups in 3 mins while other teammate Deadlifts bar @55/75 to hips and holds. MUs must stop when/if the bar drops.

 

Event 4 - In this together (no time cap)

3 rounds of: 

•   5 Synchro pull ups (any 2 teammates)

•   8 Synchro burpees to plate (any 2 teammates)

•   10 Synchro box jumps/step ups (any 2 teammates)

•   12 Synchro plate to overhead 25/45lbs (any 2 teammates)

•   600m team run holding a fat rope

I'M SCARED.  AM I EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO DO THIS?:

LIONS LEAGUE SEVEN is Open to all levels and skills.  And don't worry...because this is a Team event, you will be able to contribute to your squad even if you can't do some of the movements. 

WHAT DOES MY REGISTRATION INCLUDE?

  • Special Limited Edition LIONS LEAGUE SEVEN T-shirt
  • Post-Competition Paleo Style Meal (All you can eat Roast Chicken, Salad, Potatoes from a local Portuguese Churrascaria) 
  • Eligibility for some great prizes for Top 3 Teams 

 

CAN I SIGN-UP EVEN IF I'M NOT SURE I CAN BE THERE ON COMPETITION DAY? WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?

LIONS LEAGUE is not only about the individual, but the Team.  If you have any doubts that you will be there on event day, please DO NOT sign-up.  Once registration closes and Teams are formed, it's very important that there are NO cancellations.  This disrupts the teams and is not fair to the other team members, teams & organizers.  There are also NO refunds for cancellations and no transferring of entry fees.  So only sign-up if you mean it.
