Sitting sucks. More specifically, sitting at a desk for hours everyday day sucks.

The average person spends 8-14 hours a day sitting. A recent Mayo clinic study showed that sitting for 10hrs day cancels out 90% of your 60-minute workout, meaning the 60 minutes you spent grinding it out at the gym will equate to about 6 minutes by the time your day is done. So I repeat- sitting sucks.
 
So what should you do about it? Well, I think you should go for a run.
 
Running can increase lung function, raise your aerobic capacity and boost your immune system. In addition, after only a few minutes of running, your brain will begin secreting hormones that naturally improve your mood. In fact, there are few things in the world that can better or more rapidly treat depression than running.
 
When, you ask, do I propose you go? In the middle of your work day? What??... Hell yes in the middle of your work day. Instead of heading out the office door at 10:30am/3pm for that 15-20 minute coffee break, I suggest you try something different and lace-up. You don’t have to go far and you don’t have to go fast but you should definitely go! Re-energize that brain, get your blood flowing, lube up those limbs and breathe in some fresh air. This will l not only have your creative juices juicing and your joints saying ‘THANK YOU’, but chances are your athletic attitude will inspire office-mates to join you- and who isn’t for a little workplace camaraderie? Amiright!?
